The Monte Carlo and Shooting

After a few interesting lane changes as Alan tried to glimpse the Sat Nav screen with the sun behind him and lots of LV traffic all around we made it unscathed to the Monte Carlo Resort Complex. After the fairly homely and sometimes quite cosy Motels we'd experienced so far this was several leagues different...

We rolled up under the front door canopy - hot noisy and still with canyon mud on our boots. The bikes were left at the front whilst we checked in.

We walked into something like a London Department store ( but bigger ) with more marble and better carpeting in the lobby.

There were 12 check in desks going but we still had to wait a while.

But as well as the shops, pub, restaurants....etc they also had these..

Anyway after checking in the hotel and checking it out we jumped a cab ( which turned out to be driven by and ex-pat London cabbie whose korean/american wife apparently had a gambling problem - no shortage of life stories on this trip !)

Then we arrived at 'The Gun Store'

It was a keen operation - we were met outside by a nice lady who took our details and then another inside who took out money. At this place you can shoot anything from their collection.

Reg and Rob went for the WWII package : MP40 9mm Sub Machine Gun (german) .45 calibre Thompson Sub Machine Gun (american ) and a Colt ACP .45 Pistol (american)

Alan went for a .44 Magnum (aka Dirty Harry) a Sten Gun (aka his Gran & Auntie  who used to manufacture and test these weapons in the war !) and a Sig Sauer Assault Rifle with Laser Sights.

Mike went for a Glock 9mm Pistol as now carried bthe world over by Police

Another worrying thing was when s stray something from somebody else's gun set the range on fire......

But it got put out...
